VINCENT  J.  CACCAMO, 73,  115 Longview Drive, Butler, died at 10:45 AM Saturday morning,  July 1, 2006, at Allegheny University Hospital-Allegheny  General in Pittsburgh, surrounded by his  family.

 

He was born September 2, 1932 in Grove City, a son of the late Joseph and Mary Barbuto  Caccamo.

 

He was retired from the Inspection Department of the former Butler Armco plant, where he had worked for 20 years.  Mr. Caccamo was a  Master Barber, having graduated from the Pittsburgh Barber School.  He had  owned and operated Vince’s Barber Shop in Meridian for many  years, and had continued to cut and style hair at his home while working at Armco and since his retirement.

 

He was a member of St. Fidelis Catholic Church in Meridian, the Meridian Vets Club.  He was an avid outdoorsman, master gardener, Steeler  fan and was truly everyone’s friend; as his infectious laugh and invigorating smile touched everyone he  met.

 

Mr.  Caccamo was a Veteran of the Korean War, serving in the United States Army.

His  devoted wife of 47 years:    Eleanor  Gregory Caccamo,  they married April 4,     1959.

 

2  Sons:          Vincent J. Caccamo, Jr.   – Lyndora

                         Dr. Eric J, Caccamo, D.O., and his wife Melissa   -- Waterville, Maine

 

1  Daughter:    Valarie Nold, and her husband David    --- Cranberry Twp., PA

 

3  Sisters:   Mary Cornwell  - Oregon;  Lena Fleming  - Grove City; Jenny Zaborski – California

 

3  Grandsons:  Evan  Nold, Salvatore and Giovanni Caccamo and a  Grandaughter:

                                Francesca Caccamo

 

He was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Caccamo

 

 

Caccamo  – Friends of Vincent J. Caccamo, who died, July 1, 2006, will be received at the  Geibel Funeral Home,  201 East Cunningham Street, Butler, from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, and from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday.  A Mass of Christian  Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 7, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. from St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, 125 Buttercup  Road, Meridian.  The Rev. James Murphy, Pastor, will officiate.  Interment will follow in Butler County Memorial Park  Cemetery.

 

St.  Fidelis Bereavement Committee will conduct a Parish Vigil  ceremony at 3:00 PM Thursday, at the Funeral Home
