                                       Meridian Veterans Club Ladies Auxiliary

                                                       Monthly Meetings 2011

 

       Fourth Wednesday of each month we will hold a monthly meeting at the Clubhouse on the 1st floor at 7PM. Please plan on attending to contribute to the success of the Auxiliary through  their fundraising and social events for the membership in 2011. Fun for all and make new

   friends, as well as giving back to the troops and veterans who have given us so much with their service to our country.

         July 27th, August 24th, September 28th, October 26th,

                                 November 23rd, December 28th (pending date in December)

                                                             Social Events 2011

 

   There is a Crazy Eight card night at the Vets Club House on Tuesday's for all members, check

                                                 the MVC web site for details and time.

   There will be outdoor cookouts and weiner roasts  thru the Vets Club also, check the web site for

                                                       details and dates for all members.

   Don't forget the monthly dances with Marty & Kathy Tack as DJ sponsored by the Vets Club.

                                                           Fundraising Events 2011

    There was a Vendor Show held on Sunday April 10th sponsored by the Auxiliary. We had nine vendors selling their wares, door prizes, and fun for all.

      There were refreshments and a bake sale held by the Auxiliary. We are looking forward to plans regarding an annual Vendor Show.

       There will be an Annual Rummage Sale, on Friday July 29th from 9AM-3PM at the Clubhouse on the second floor. There are tables available for rent to sell your special items at a cost of $10 each. There is limited space, so make your reservations by July 20th by calling Lucy Rotunda at 724-482-2467. There will be refreshments for sale all day. Look forward to seeing everyone there, tell your friends and family. LETS GO SHOPPING!!!!!

  • There will be our Annual Little  Caesar's Pizza Sale in late August early
    September. The chairperson is  Linda Protzman, final details will be
    presented at the meeting in July or  August.
  •                                                           Shirts
  • There are a few navy blue polo shirts available for the  Auxiliary members to
    purchase, the shirt price is $5 and the monogram is  $10, if you are
    interested call Judy Volchko at 412-398-0681 for sizes and status. The
    Auxiliary members wear their shirts proudly at the functions at the
    Clubhouse for the Auxiliary and the Vets Club.

   Look for details for any upcoming plans to hold a Casino Trip in the late summer by the Auxiliary.

                                                     Fundraising Events 2011 cont'd

 

   Details on the Vets Club web site for the trip to the PA Grand Canyon, Auxiliary members

   are welcomed to go, bus trip limited, don't miss the fun.

 

   On Sunday, October 30, 2011, the Ladies Auxiliary will sponsored their 2nd annual Spaghetti

   Dinner.  (details will be posted in the fall).

 

     In  late October look for details regarding the APPLE BUTTER DAY, sponsored by the Vets

     Club. They will need volunteers to help prepare and make the apple butter. Fun for all who

     help, please try to volunteer and have a great day with your friends and neighbors while

     helping to make their fundraising event a HIT.

 

                                                                         Contributions

 

     Got any ideas for different fundraisers, please share your thoughts and ideas at the meetings.

     We are always looking for ways to raise money, and help with the up keep of the ClubHouse.

     We hope to help the 301 RSG Unit in and Butler, and the Butler VA Hospital with their events.

     We recently donated $250 to the USO to help our troops abroad,and make their time away

     from home a little easier.

                                                                       Door Cards




Don't forget to pay your 2011 Dues, each Auxiliary member who had paid their
2011 dues are eligible to have a Door Card to the Clubhouse.

They will be issued annually as deemed by the Vets Club Membership.  Remit
your dues to Jeanne Lawson, our Treasurer to get your new

yellow membership card, and your Red Door Card. Each card will denote
Auxiliary , 2011, your name, and a card number assigned to each

member and kept on file by the Auxiliary and the Vets Club.


 

                                                                       Get Well Wishes

 

     There are a number of auxiliary members who have been ill, sending out prayers and wishes

     that they are better soon, and able to attend the meetings and participate in our activities in    

     2011. If you please pass along their names to Rosemary Jones, Chairperson for Cards, she will

     send them an appropriate card to let them know we care about. Either by email (see your list) or

   call 412-398-0681 and leave a message to be forwarded to Rosemary. Thank you.

 

                                                           Yellow Ribbon Bow Project

     If you have an immediate family member serving in the military and would like us to put

     their name on the yellow ribbon boxes near the park sign, please contact Judy Volchko.

     412-398-0681.  We will add their name to the three already posted until they come home.

     We would also like a 4X6 picture of them in uniform and their present address. We will put

     their picture with the others in the Club house for all to see.  Please thank them for serving

     our country, and we will pray for their safe return home soon.
